Over the years I have collected up a huge number of cool little demonstrations and simple experiments that are easy to perform, clearly demonstrate scientific principles, draw lots of attention and are guaranteed to work (almost) every time. In fact I got quite a reputation; colleagues started calling me the Science Wizard (tongue in cheek I think!). Lots of teachers started asking about different things that they had seen me do in the past, and I even received the occasional phone call from a past colleague at other schools. Soon someone suggested that I should write a book with all these ideas. However I felt that since I didn’t really come up with many of these myself (I had simply collected them) it would be wrong of me to try to make money from them. What's more it seemed far more noble (swelling violins) to make them freely available to as many people as possible. So here they are available to the world via the World Wide Web. Now here’s the catch!! If you like these ideas, and use a few to improve your delivery of science to your students, what I would really like from you is (wait for it)….. an e-mail with either some feedback on how it went, or any improvements or variations you can suggest, OR even better I would love to here about some of your cool little gimmicks to make science more accessible. With your permission I would post these on the site, with proper credit given of course. In this way the Science Wizards site can continue to get bigger and better.
